Maintaining and building upon the Belong Design System

At Belong, I was part of a team that was responsible for maintaining the Belong Design System. We would create new components based on requirements (a new component required three or more use cases) as well as creating thorough documentation for proper usage and implementation.

I would also create design uplifts for existing components based on customer feedback, brand alignment and best practice. Each component was required to meet a set of accessibility criteria and would need to behave correctly across multiple browsers and devices.
The Belong Design System provides a single source of truth that enables a scalable and consistent user interface. I have designed a number of components within the design system that are well documented, meet AA accessibility requirements and are in line with Belong brand guidelines.

Being embedded within an agile delivery team requires collaboration and ensuring the Design System components where being delivered to spec.
